New Delhi: The invoice upload facility for the businesses under GST is expected to be launched from 24th of July 2017. The businesses will be able to upload all their invoices that have been generated post 1st July 2017, when the GST (Goods and Service Tax) came into the picture.
The platform to upload the invoices would be the GSTN (Goods and Service Tax Network), which manages the entire IT system of the GST portal.
An offline excel format had been launched by the GSTN last month, so that various businesses can keep gathering their record and start uploading the invoice from 24th July 2017.
To claim input tax credit under the GST regime, the invoices should be generated for all the dealings above ₹ 200. This upload utility will help the business men avoid the month-end rush as they can come forward and start uploading the bills on a daily or weekly basis.
The offline excel tool is expected to upload as many as 19,000 invoices data on GSTN portal at one go and this entire process would take not more than half a minute.
To make life easy, GSTN had uploaded a video to demystify the process of uploading the invoices and have also set up a call centre help desk that would assist tax payers on any query they would have regarding the new tax regime.
While uploading the invoice, a business would be required to mention the invoice number, date, customer number, billing address, customer and taxpayer’s GSTIN, shipping address and HSN code along with CGST, IGST and SGST.
The entire process is expected to make things smooth, hassle free and help avoid month end rush.
