Lucknow – If a movie’s 50 percent part has been shot in Uttar Pradesh, then there would be no Goods and Service Tax charged on the tickets of that particular film; announced the Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.

The CM took this decision in a cabinet meeting. The state government is ready to bear the charges on its own and the taxes would not be passed to the viewers provided the movie gives a message to the society.

The movies would include the ones produced by Children’s Film Society, National Award winning films, the best Hindi film or the best Indian Film in an international festival. The movies should be based on social welfare and should give a strong message to the society.

Apart from this, the movies that would be made with the help of central and state governments or national films division would also come under the category of no GST.
