New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Singh Modi has asked all the chief secretaries of the respective states to work religiously in ensuring that the traders register under the Goods and Services Tax (GST) regime before 15th August 2017.
He conveyed this to everyone present in the 20th meeting of PRAGATI (Pro-Active Governance And Timely Implementation) that he was moderating. Traders and businesses can register themselves through the facility of e-verification which would be facilitated through the OTP verification from their registered mobile numbers.
This move has been brought forward by a lot of traders and business men faced problems while registering for their GST enrollment. Modi conveyed his clear cut intentions during his teleconferencing meeting where he interacts frequently with all the top officials of the state government.
During his meeting with the ministers, he also reviewed the headway on central public works department (CPWD) asking them to encourage the vendors to join the Government E-Market (Gem) platform. GeM is a virtual online platform that enables procurement of common use goods and services with minimum human interaction and interruption. He has also requested the Urban Development Ministry to be very dynamic in monitoring the grievances related to central public works department (CPWD).
